The purpose of this experiment is to demonstrate the link between electric current and magnetic fields.

 

Supplies: To do this experiment we need a compass (Walmart sporting goods), a six-volt lantern battery, a meter or so of insulated copper wire, two disk magnets (Radio Shack), a metal bolt and a nut, and a wooden pencil.
