Journal Paper Review

The letter came in the mail during the Fall term 2007. It was from the "Petition Project" and it contained a nice glossy print from a journal, a letter, and a petition to sign looking to reject the Kyoto treaty based on the scientific evidence from the articles. What a wonderful opportunity to have a class look at the article and determine the validity and scientific rigor of the presented materials. I collected copies from other faculty and the students had a wonderful time doing the review in class and presenting their results.

The link contains enough of the letter and article for students to complete their own review. This activity can be completed in about one hour, and makes for a great activity demonstrating critical thinking and research. It is also a good example to the students - you'll see if you do it.
