The Magnetic brake experiment was developed by Dr. Neal Gallagher, Dean of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Central Florida.
 
 

Materials needed for the experiment:

 
  1. A ¼ in. diameter “rare earth” magnetic purchased online or in a good hobby store.
  2. A ½ in. diameter copper plumbing pipe up to 5 ft. in length purchased at Home Depot.
