Making a Simple Electric Motor

Materials Needed

1. One AA battery - a C or D battery will also do.
2. One ¼ inch or ½ inch diameter rare earth disk magnet. (Ordered online or purchased at a very good hobby store)
3. A small nail or screw - one that is made of steel or iron or some other magnetic material is needed. Aluminum won’t work.
4. One 6” piece of insulated wire. The insulation must be taken off from about a half inch at each end.
