Setting Up Youtube for Teaching

This is a step by step on how to set up Youtube with Google+ for your teaching channels.

Step 1 - A Youtube/Google Account - If you do not have a Youtube account, you will need one. Go to Youtube and create an account (if you have a Google+ account, you will be able to use it to create a Youtube Channel). You will also need a Google+ account, these accounts are the same account - just different services.

Step 2 - Create a Youtube Channel - You will want to organize your Youtube into Channels -  this is going to be better to do if you have separate Google+ pages to link these to so this will have the following steps;

    Step 2A - Login to Google+ and go to https://plus.google.com/pages/create Select Brand and give it a good name.

    Step 2B - Go to https://www.youtube.com/channel_switcher and create a Channel to link to this New Page.

Step 3 - Upload Video - You can now upload video into this channel. You can set up managers (they will be page managers) that can assist you in organizing the pages. You can organize, caption, or annotate your video. You can change security level.

Those are the steps.

The linkage is;

Youtube Channel <--> Google+ Page

Do NOT link a Youtube Channel to your Google+ Profile - this will not allow you to add managers, and you will want to add managers to help with things like captioning, etc...
